"Idea Car", you say? I'm looking forward to seeing some of these ideas incorporated into future Jaguars.

0-60 in 3.8 seconds. A top speed of 214 mph. Fear me.

My site - Car of the Week - This week is the Porsche 911 GT2.

Some F-Type news if anyone's interested:

Jaguar will have finalized the car's layout and specs in the next 6 months. The big decision is whether the X600 will be mid-engined or front-engined. The choice to use the X-Type's gearbox has already been made though, and a tentative engine line-up is being worked out:

2.2 I-6; 170 bhp
2.5 I-6; 220 bhp
3.0 I-6; 250 bhp & a supercharged variant with 330 bhp

The F-Type will probably go on sale in 2004.

Wait - sorry. Correction.

Those aren't inline sixes, they're V6s. (AJV6s, to be precise). Or so AUTOCAR tells me.

The rear lights are too Ford Mondeo. Too much curve up front, same direction and fault as the BMW Z9. The hofmeister kink in the C pillar is trademark BMW: hands offf!!!!!!! .
Give it some of that flame surfacing Chris Bangle is always going on about.More edges needed, especially at the front.Lovely proportions though. In terms of the interior:- the front facia is too retro. enuff of that retro stuff!!!Try being progressive without being too avant gard, though.Overall? Good seats. Should go into production , subject to the said adjustments. NOOOOOOOO Mondeo parts!
