Cool looking car. Definitely a Lambo. It would look awesome in Black. The Murcielago has a similar design feel to the Countach, which needed to have scoops added to its rear air intakes because it had overheating problems at high speed. The angle of the "wings" and their side supports would provide very little useful downforce. So, I think that you will find that the "wings" are air intakes for the rear mounted radiators. Look HUGE scoops on the L147 prototype. ------------------

Hey you lot are right about the big lack of power, especially for the drop top. But over here in Britain cars that look like that stand out much more, which is maybe why they're very popular... And you right Morto, it would look wicked in black! I'll try and edit a pic with Fireworks and see if i can make it black....------------------ IP: Logged |

I was unsure about the desigh at first but it is growing on me. Shame it even bigger than the Diablo which was already a massive car, though it is supposed to be more driveable and comfortable. By the way they are not 'wings' they are NACA ducts similar to the ones on the top of the countach rear wings (though the countach had fixed ones). They are only deployed at high speed and provide no downforce at all, however there is a flying butress that deploys at speed ala McLaren F1 which does provide downforce. Wing fans dont fear, they are bound to have one as an option and besides they never provided any downforce anyway they just created drag and looked cool. ------------------ Graham IP: Logged |

The rear wing on the Murcielago is also a piece of active hardware. It too deploys at speed.I therefore wonder if we'll see the traditional, huge Lambo rear wing on this car. ------------------

Well as cute as the new little lamborgini murcielago (rice burner) is...I'm just waiting for some rich dude to drive it over a speed bump...there goes another grand to fix, haha.Other than that...I kind of like the diablo better-seemed to have more personality and definition to it. ------------------ (I need to find a good quote when I wake up) -Princess Oasis IP: Logged |

Oh that looks nice. Can't understand why Lambo's launch colours/colors were bright green and yellow! It looks like sex on wheels in black... ------------------ IP: Logged |

Has the Murcielago been distributed to dealers yet, or is it still on the show circuit? I'd like to know, because if they're in production, I'm going to be over to Nelson Lamborghini faster than you can say "Diablo".......------------------ It's a 790 bhp, turbocharged, 220-mph McLaren Eater! hey guysi'd just like to say about the new lambo, that all new cars are often greeted with a lot of mixed opinions (remember the aston db7?, it got a lot of stick when it came out), and to give the lambo a break. We all know that they're a company that's come from behind, and it looks like they're doing a pretty good job. But the rear end is too angular, and the exit vents look awful... apart from that, the car carries the lambo (styling) tradition onwards. It may look modern and be smoothed out, but it needs to be to keep up with these fantastic designs from ferrari and porsche. give it time, and when the car's minor details are totally sorted, then have a go at it ------------------

Yeah, fair point, but you just had a go at it then. Right...here quote: But the rear end is too angular, and the exit vents look awful... apart from that, the car carries the lambo (styling) tradition onwards. . I'm just confused, because it's a bit contradictory. And anyway, the people who don't like it have already had plenty of goes at it. ------------------ IP: Logged |

Giuseppe Greco (or was it Grego?), the president of Lamborghini said that they want lambo to be a controversial thing, some hate it, some love it. Personally, I love it and I think that no car should leave you cold, but most of them do, sad, but maybe that is just what you get when most (NOTE:most) of the car makers are more business men then passionate about cars. Who wants to be sensible? ------------------

You're right about the businessmen. That's why we get cars like this ------------------ IP: Logged |
